The photo shows a Boys Band marching from Back Hill into Station Road. On the left is the gable end of the old Gas Works and The Black Swan behind.
Champion cabbage 1908
W Hancock grew this cabbage in 1908. It weighed 23lbs 5oz and had a circumference of 6ft 4ins. It was cut up and eaten at the Black Swan, shown in picture.
