The plaque states:
In grateful memory of Jessie Rowell Anderson, 1898 – 1972, whose generosity, foresight and persistence in her fight in the late 1930s against housing development on this field, has ensured that it remains a green space for the continued enjoyment of all who live in or visit our village.
