Parish church dating from C12, but largely rebuilt between circa 1450 and 1470.
Medieval stone buttressed river wall with substantial later repairs in brick.
1603 marriage of Robert Wilde, local shoemaker, to Elizabeth Church, 2nd October. Th couple went on to have at least nine children. Robert, their fifth child was born at the beginning of 1615 and baptised at the parish church. Robert Wild would go on to become a clergyman but also a well known poet famed for his wit.
The book by David R Viles, The Revd Dr Robert Wilde, (2003), describes his life and his association with St Ives. In his will he created the opportunity for local children to play dice each year for the prize of a Bible.
