Sir Francis Darwin FRS, botanist


1919 – 1920

Ralph Vaughan Williams lived here (late February 1919 to circa October 1920) after his demobilisation from the army. he had served with the 2nd/4th London Field Ambulance Unit and then, in 1918, as an artillery officer, 2/Lt. with the 141 Heavy Battery, 86th Brigade, Royal Garrison Artillery.
