History of 58 High Street, Hinxton

Listed Building

Farmhouse. Early C16 with late C16 or early C17 alterations and additions, replanned in C19. Timber-framed and plastered with painted brick plinth. … A late C14 stone arcade panel of five bays is said to have been removed from the church in the C19 by the church warden.

Late C19. Cast iron with fluted domed cap, spout and weighted lever situated over a well.

There are interesting original 16th cent. carved spandrels placed over more recent door frames. Over the fireplace there is a 14th cent stone arcade of five bays, which might have originally been part of a tomb chest or a screen in the church.
