History of 5 The Green

Listed building:

House. C17, C18 with C19 alterations and rebuilding. Timber frames partly exposed with rough cast render and cased in C19 gault brick. Slate roofs. Tall C17 stack with grouped shafts.


On one side Victorian owners tried to replace the roof.

When the sitting room fireplace was being taken out, a medieval pot was found filled nails and wool, intended to keep evil spirits away.
