Historyworks Trails

History Trails for Schools

Historyworks has made a number of history trails for Cambridgewhich take the public on fascinating explorations of hidden histories from the jurassic period to contemporary revelations about the city’s people and places.

Mill Road History Trail

This trail, narrated by the famous poet Michael Rosen, starts on Parker’s Piece, takes you along a journey learning about the Victorian History of Mill Road to sites of interest such as the Gaol, the Windmill, the Work House, the Bath House, the Victorian School,  the Eagle Iron Foundry & Coprolite Mill; and ends way down in Romsey at the site of the former Victorian Isolation Hospital for Infectious Diseases.

Schools Trails

These 8 trails are designed to lead from the front door of primary schools to the market place in Cambridge and have poems and songs composed by the famous children’s poet, Michael Rosen, and the Horrible Histories songwriter, Dave Cohen.
