They’ve moved to 94 Gwydir Street by 1901.

This family have moved here from 97 Ainsworth Street.
Susan White (nee Newman) is Head of household. She has written a – in the space for marital staus. Another pen has written ‘married’ over thge top. Susan is 57 years old and a Monthly Nurse. She was born in Foxton, Cambridgeshire.
Her children, Emily Rosina White (26) a dressmaker, and Cyril Frank White (15) employed as a page boy on the Great Eastern Railway, are living with her. Grandson Willie White Chapman (6) is also part of the household.
Susan has written that she has been married for 32 years, and has had 8 children, 4 of whom are still living.
She was married to William White, a stone mason. Sometimes recorded as ‘William B’ and sometimes as ‘Wm Robt’. There is one local entry for a William White in 1911. He is living in the Workhouse on Mill Road, occupation recorded as ‘formerly stone mason’, but it also states that he is widowed.
There is a death record for a William R White, aged 59, dated December 1911.
Perhaps there was a reason that William had to enter the Workhouse, so the family downsized from 97 Ainsworth Street (which was sold privately in 1902) into 34 Ainsworth Street. He then appears on the 1911 Census at the Workhouse and dies at the end of that year. This may be why she didn’t want to record her marital status.
Susan White, widow, aged 65. This census record shows that William has definitely died by this time. Susan is living with her daughter Emily (Saunderson), herself now widowed. Emily is 36 and works as college servant at Jesus College.
Cyril is still with his mother and sister. He is 28 and works as a waiter in the Refreshment Rooms at Cambridge Station. Grandson William Chapman is 16 and a machine assistant at the University Press, Trumpington Street
Sidney Asby, b 1909, Government Company Bricklayer
