Lordships Cottage, 2 High Street (Chapel) Swaffham Bulbeck

History of 13th century chapel

Listed Building

House, originally a chapel. Early C13 converted in late C16 or early C17 when a bay was added to the West end. This bay was demolished or collapsed and has in turn been replaced by a single storey brick room in C20.

Nothing is known of the history of this chapel. The chapel was built in the 13th century and converted in the late 16th or 17th century, leaving the 13th century walls intact.
