Wagstaff Maltings

History of Wagstaff Matings

‘A Disorderly House’ (Barraclough 2018) describes the existence of the matings here as connected with the growth of the area once the weigh bridge was built and the development of Newtown.  Charles Wagstaff ran the maltings circa 1840.
