Old Gonville and Caius college 1860
The college acquired the houses on the corner of Trinity Street in 1782 and partly converted them into rooms for students in 1854. They were demolished 1868-1879 when Tree Court was rebuilt.

During the period 1903-5 Harold Delph Gillies was a student at Caius. His work during WWI has led to him being widely considered the father of modern plastic surgery. Harold Gillies Close (CB5 8ZD) is named in his honour.
