The location of South View is uncertain. In 1913there were very few buildings on the east side of Arbury Road. The most likely candidate is the house next to the ‘o’ of Arbury Road on the 1925 OS map. There no buildings in this vicinity in 1901. However, in the 1911 census S Gawthroup’s household is described as living at Beatrix House, Arbury Road. this may have been the same house which had been renamed.
