In this census there is listed a house, Glen Mervyn, to the east of Ballinagore (no.30) that is absent from the 1911 census. It is possible that this was the original name of Astor House.

Mrs Hankins volunteered for the Red Cross from 1915 to 1918 and was based at the 1st Eastern General Hospital.
Eleanor Isabel Hankins from 1915 was a nurse at the Huntly Hospital. She was awarded 2 war service bars.
Major Martin Alan Anderson, 211, Field Company, Royal Engineers. Born 10th November 1887. Died of wounds received in action at Duisans near Arras Wednesday 9th May 1917. Aged 29. Awarded the Military Cross (M.C.). Son of James Drummond Anderson and Frances Louisa Anderson, of Greycotes, Cavendish Avenue, (previously of Brooklands Avenue).
