Louis Tebbutt JP, Lieut.-Col. and Commanding Officer 1st Cambs. Regiment

Oswald Neville Tebbutt: In 1914 he was 2/Lieut. of ‘A’ Coy. Became Captain 1/1 Battalion Cambridgeshire Regiment. Killed in action at St Eloi 15/3/1915 aged 25. Eldest son of Louis and Edith. Killed whilst reconnoitering toward St Eloi (The Cambridgeshires 1914-1919 pub. 1934).

Roger Joseph Tebbutt: In 1914 he was 2/Lieut. ‘C; Coy. Became Captain 1/1/ Battalion Cambridgeshire Regiment. Killed in action 24/8/1918 aged 24. second son of Louis and Edith. There is a detailed account of the fighting at St Julien 31st July – 1st August 1917 in Tebbutt’s own words (The Cambridgeshires 1914-1919  pg. 115f.) Roger Tebbutt’s death is noted on p. 214.

Charles L Tebbutt also served with the Cambridgeshire Regiment. As a lieutenant he was awarded the Military Cross for his actions as battalion scout officer on 31/7/17.
