These are two pages from George Kett’s notebook during the time that he worked on the Palace of Westminster under the direction of the architect Augustus Pugin. Kett was chosen to carve the Royal Coat of Arms in the Chamber of the House of Lords.
The firm of Rattee and Kett have worked on the building more recently. They created carved panels in silver elm on the main entrance doors of the Westminster Abbey Annexe on the occasion of the coronation of H.M. King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
