In 2020 RB wrote: In 1946 when my father, came back from the war, he and my parents, William and Marjorie Storey, rented this house from the widower of the Bishop of Litchfield, Mrs Williams, for about six years. They then bought it from Mrs Williams in the early 1950’s and we all – my parents and us four sisters, two of us pre-war and two post-war, lived in this fantastic home and garden (until post two weddings} in the early 1960s when my parents sold it. I know it stayed in private hands for a while but don’t know when it became part of the hospital. It was a lovely home. Such a shame it isn’t still a family home with that garden and much used tennis court.
In the 1960s the house had a large garden and a tennis court at the back looking back onto fields.
By 2016 it had become the offices of one of the social work divisions within the city.
