Spalding’s and Kelly’s street directories are one of the main research resources. This page lists all those we know of available online that contain Cambridgeshire information.
Census information is released 100 years after it is taken so, for now, we have access to records up to 1921, plus the 1939 special census.
The National Archives has details about how and where to view the censuses.
You can switch Capturing Cambridge to use OS maps from 1901 and 1939 by using the map selector in the bottom left of the page. However there are more detailed maps available on the National Library of Scotland map site. You use their geo-referenced map to browse around or you can buy print or digital copies of specific areas.

The Cambridge Antiquarian Society have a collection of old maps available for download.
The University of Cambridge have a high resolution copy of the William Custance Map of 1798 for browsing.
The Cambridgeshire Collection also has copies of most OS maps of Cambridgeshire which you can browse freely.

The Mill Road History Society created a guide to researching buildings that was published in 2017. A few of the links in it are now out of date but the majority of the information is still very relevant.
