Wooden statuette from unknown address in Sidney Street
The limited information about this figure, a woman with cloven feet (provenance tobacconist’s) might suggest the Deer Woman figure of Native America Mythology. Traditions say she can be controlled though chanting and use of tobacco. However, at the moment there seems to be little known about the use of such mythological imagery. The Museum of Cambridge would welcome further information. However, in 2024 a note was discovered suggesting that the statue was one of four which came from 17 Petty Cury in 1972.
