1851

1861

Edmund Peacock, 45, cabinet maker, b Cambridge

1874

Walter Stockbridge opened a furniture dealers. He had opened a furniture shop in Melbourn in 1870. In 1878 he married Alice, daughter of William Wallis, licensee of the “Blackbirds” in East Road. By 1881 he had left Green Street and opened larger premises at 49 Sidney Street.

John Charles had previously lived at 4 Drummer Street.  John had married Mary Ann Stockbridge in 1873. See ‘One Man’s Cambridge – The Life and Times of J H V Charles 1887-1932’ by J A Charles.

1887

Birth of John Henry Victor Charles. Father was John Charles, a compositor for the Cambridge University press. In 1889 the family moved to 3 Bridge Street.
