In 1688 this was in the possession of Dr Christopher Greene, the Professor of Physic (who held considerable property in Cambridge); members of his family owned it for many years.

Robert Booth Campbell Brown (c 1873-1893) was living here with his mother and his younger brother. His father had been the Hon Stephen Campbell-Brown who had died suddenly in 1882 when he was a member of the legislative council of New South Wales.
Robert drowned on the Cam while rowing aged 19.
