John Child junior was living at 13 Honey Hill when he qualified as a farrier. In 1920 he was a farrier in East Road.

The wedding photo was taken in John Child’s yard. John Child is standing on the far left next to his wife who is sitting with a baby, her granddaughter, on her knee. The baby is Margaret Webb and she lived in Victoria Park, Chesterton. The two men from the other photo seem to be in the back row. The bride was Elizabeth Child, John’s daughter. At the front of the group is Nora Child. The tradition is that one of the guests was a royal hat maker, hence the very smart hats.
