Anouskha Harit is a Research Software Engineer at Google DeepMind and a PhD candidate in Medical Science at the University of Cambridge, where she is developing AI-driven approaches to detect Hereditary Diffuse Gastric Cancer at its earliest stages.

Combining expertise in artificial intelligence, data analysis and software engineering, Anoushka has contributed to projects including the EU’s ARETE Project to advance AI applications in medicine. Looking back at her career so far, Anoushka says, “The greatest potential of AI lies in improving lives, particularly technology that’s helping a clinician detect disease earlier. But AI is a polarising topic for good reasons. AI needs to be governed ethically as we continue to innovate”

As both a researcher and engineer, Anoushka represents the next generation of innovators helping to strengthen Cambridge’s global reputation as a centre for groundbreaking research and responsible technological advancement.
