CDN 26.9.1931 recounted the story of the former lock-up next to the Town Hall which had then beem used as a magazine by the Whittlesey Company of the Cambridgeshire Regiment. The key was lost however after 1914 and the magazine not reopened until 1931 when a bag of ammunition was found.
