Arthur Thomas Almond was the son of Arthur Rutherford Almond, a company managing director and his wife Olive Elizabeth. He was born in 1914 and in WWII became a lieutenant in the 46th Liverpool Welsh Royal Tank Regiment. He was killed 28/10/1942 (the Second Battle of El Alamein 23/10/1942 – 11/11/1942) and is commemorated at the El Alamein war cemetery in Egypt.
