‘Keyhole’ Excavations to the North of Swavesey Castle Ditch
Excavations adjacent to nos. 22 and 24 Taylor’s Lane, revealed new evidence for the origins of Swavesey Castle and for the use of this once important fenland port town during the medieval period. By 15th century this part of the town was used for agriculture and was the southern limit of a group of fishponds.
