Broken Tech Broken Earth

Adam Twis is a technology leader and serial entrepreneur with a career spanning software engineering, networking, cloud infrastructure and large-scale distributed systems. Having founded and led multiple technology ventures, including SwiftServe and Versio4, he built innovative solutions for telecommunications providers while advising businesses ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.

In 2024, Adam became Head of Core Technology at Quadrature, overseeing the firm’s core technology that powers its quantitative trading business.

Throughout his career, he has combined entrepreneurial vision with engineering excellence, believing that “Early in my career I was fortunate enough to work at Cambridge Network and stayed there for 8 years, it taught me the value of people skills crucial to build professional relationships and make a name for myself in the Cambridge tech start-up space.” His leadership reflects a commitment to building resilient, high-performance technology in and around Cambridge.

This story was shared by a volunteer as part of the Broken Tech, Broken Earth project which aims to co-create events with the local community about the social, historical and environmental impacts of technology. This project is externally funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund as part of the Museum Association. The project is led by the Centre for Computing History, which is a registered educational charity and independent museum located in Cambridge. Our mission is to use our collections, displays, learning programmes, and events to engage the public with the developments in computing over the past 80 years.
