History of Clayhithe Bridge
1875 In October the bridge over the Cam between Waterbridge and Horningsea was opened. Until then the crossing was by small ferry boats.
For more information about the history of navigation on the Cam see Enid Porter’s article: River Trade
The Museum of Cambridge has the wooden toll board of 1851 which used to stand near the bridge.
