Duck End farm / Grove House farm

History of Duck End

This was formerly the Grove House Farm occupied by Joe Randall. It was bought by the Edwards family in 1979 and the small farm worker’s cottage dating from the 1880s has been enlarged.

Joe Driver had been the farmer at Grove House. He was a hard solitary man with thrifty habits. Once a week he went to Cambridge market in his gig. His treatment of animals was very harsh. (See p.74 Gallows Piece to Bee Garden)
