Fire at no.18 9th March reported by Cambridge Daily News. Arthur Matthew from next door was one of the first on the scene at 3am. Night porters from Trinity poured water on the blaze and the Volunteer Fire Brigade’s Captain came quickly. The widow lodging house keeper and her servant, 16 years old, were asleep in bedrooms on the second floor.
